Latin American Business Forum
In 2019, a new committee decided to expand the Forum in a variety of ways. The conference was extended to a two-day event with five different sessions and an article section on the website was launched where professionals and students alike could write articles on topics, businesses or ideas relevant to Latin America.
Additionally, Ph.D. students whose research focused on Latin America were invited to participate in the First Research Initiative Award. This culminated in a poster exhibition where the Ph.D. students presented their research progress and speakers could provide helpful feedback.
The Forum was hosted at the Edinburgh Business School from the 15th-16th of February 2018 and attracted more than a 100 students, academics and professionals. With reference to four of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015 (SDGs 5, 7, 10 and 16), speakers were invited to explore how cooperation could provide sustainable strategies for reducing inequality in Latin America.
